I often talk my heart out. To me, speaking from the heart is one of the essential sources of growth and vitality.

It is the voice of realization and expansion – the fascination of giving form to the vibrant aura I sense all around me.

The things that hurt, attract, thrill, surprise, or upset me - the things that drive me crazy or fill me with joy – all belong to this bundle of emotions and sensations that awaken the heart across the full spectrum of life.

There was a time when my visual creativity was in limbo.

Sadness took up much of the space, and depression knocked at the door. Fortunately, through writing, words began to flow, and they offered the help I needed.

Poetry writing is a special, quality moment in my day. It is a savior moment, and an anchor at times. In one of my poems called, “Epistle in Incandescence,” I wrote:

An island of emotions

That has found abreaction;

An epistle is a reverence

To my inner-world reference

It elevates the boring, the ordinary, and especially, any feeling of stagnation or impasse. Writing creates a moment of release- an energy that dissolves fear and uneasiness.

My fragility is cared for through writing, which allows me to bloom while remaining rooted in my present emotions.

Writing feels a bit like apnea: like waking up suddenly and desperately seeking a deep breath. It begins with a tremor of panic, a trepidation followed by the relief of words emerging. Writing is to descend, hold my breath, and then resurface.

In September 2025, I participated in an International Symposium on Mosaic Art. Renowned artists presented their work, and I witnessed an infectious state of “talking your heart out” –moments where words and tears came together. It centered on the expression of their creative path, especially how crises and hardships had propelled them toward profound transformation, both in their choices and in their art.

A single sentence that I heard at the Symposium resonated deeply with me: Mosaic is an homage to slowness. I realized that writing, too, is an homage to slowness - a testament to the power of this deliberate pace. Slowness is my secret to talking my heart out.

It brings balance; it is the gentle sipping mode of self- expansion.

Writing allows one to breathe comfortably.

To write is to be free.

Anyone can close their eyes and inhale peacefully.

Pouring one’s heart out becomes an act of pure love.
