The Expressful Bush
By Audrey Alma Meyer
Who, who?
I sit in front of you.
Two meters apart,
Yet I feel so near.
You stand,
While I sit upright.
In stillness we are,
Or perhaps not so much.
The wind drifts around,
Sensations come along.
Meditating,
Eyes closed,
Breathing.
Birds chirp,
Flying through,
Noises rise,
In a surrounding frenzy.
I am here and there.
You are here and here.
We are suspended,
Two floating beings.
In air and space,
Coexisting.
When meditation ends,
I gently open my eyes,
A powerful vision of you
Captures me-
Meeting you like a true friend,
In allogamy.
Quivering leaves unfold,
In all their splendor.
A wondrous sight before me.
A vivid expression,
Here and now-
You and me,
In connection.
Did I know that
Sitting with you
Would be such a resourceful insight?
